JAMAICA INN
& Museums

OPEN ALL YEAR Welcome to Jamaica Inn, Cornwall's legendary Coaching House which has stood high on Bodmin Moor for over four centuries. In more recent times our commitment to you, our visitors, has meant many improvements to the Inn. Comfortably refurbished bedrooms, Mr Potter's Museum of Curiosity, and the recreation of Daphne du Maurier's study have all made a visit here more enjoyable. There's also a wider choice of food and drink on offer than in Joss Merlyn's day and, certainly, rather better service. Yet the timeless character of Jamaica Inn still remains completely unchanged. As Joss would say, "It's as fine an Inn today as ever 'twas".

Immortalised in Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name, the Jamaica Inn was originally known as the New Inn. The name was changed in honour of a member of the local Rodd family, who held a post in Jamaica for some years, before finally returning to the Bodmin Moor he loved.
